Today, I’m going to talk to you about keeping your word to fellow writers. All too often we say we’re going to do a favor for someone, and then we don’t. We get busy, or we forget. I admit, I’m guilty of it, too. It’s time for that to stop.

Say a writer friend asks you to read and give a review for his or her book. You readily agree. Then, you get busy and you forget about it. When you’re ready for your book to be read and reviewed, you may end up getting a flat out no from the person you ask. Why? Because you didn’t read and review his or her book like you said you would.

I may be a hypocrite for writing this, but it’s been on my mind for a while. This lesson is just as much for me as it is anyone else. All too often we don’t keep our word. We get wrapped up in our own work. Slow down a little. Take a break from your work to keep your word. Even if it’s just half an hour a day, you’ll be surprised by how far you can get, and your friend will very much appreciate your review.

I just want to take time out at the end of this lesson to say thank you to everyone. You all have been so supportive these past few months. I started this blog at the end of April and here at the beginning of September, I already have over 300 views. I know this isn’t the fastest growing website, and I’m okay with that, but knowing that people from all over the world are reading this makes me so happy. If I can help fellow writers out, I’m more than glad to. Thank you especially to everyone who has liked or commented on posts.

If there’s something more you would like to see on the site, please feel free to contact me.

As always, keep the faith, writers. I believe in you all.
