I’m sorry I missed Friday and Monday. I’ve been sick with a cold and didn’t feel like doing anything!
Today, I’m going to talk to you about pushing through. You have to keep writing no matter what. I know. Life happens. You get sick. Your child gets sick. You start a new job. You feel like everything is happening at once. It happens. Get over it.
Keep writing. I’ve had to keep editing even though I’ve had a cold. Was it fun? No way. I’ve had to force myself. Ten pages a day is what I’ve had to force myself to do. I always make myself do ten pages a day. Being sick doesn’t change that.
Make yourself do something even if you don’t feel like doing anything. I admit, I let myself slide with the blog. I shouldn’t have done that. Blah, blah, blah. I still worked on my manuscript. I didn’t let myself slide with that, at least.
Even if you don’t do everything, do SOMETHING. Maybe you don’t fee like doing everything. You need to do something, at least. Push through with that one thing. Just a few minutes a day should do it. Trust me, I’ve had the experience.
Okay, so I don’t have a book out, and I haven’t fully experienced everything there is to experience. But you know what? I’ve had the experience of not having time. I’ve had the experience of getting sick and tired of my manuscript. I’ve had the experience of not feeling like doing anything because I’m down and out with a cold. I’ve even had the experience of a child being sick (my niece when she visits). So yes, I do have the experience. So, guess what? No excuses. Get to writing.
Keep the faith, writers. I believe in you all.
